The story of how we said goodbye to all the Trellos, Teamworks, BaseCamps and Asanas and are now cruising along on the nice Czech Caflou! You could almost say that not only in grocery shopping, but also in choosing technologies and platforms, you can buy locally.
“The customer support of the Caflou tool, provided mainly by the author and father of the project, Petr Macek, is amazing. It has already happened several times that, based on our suggestions, features and functions of the tool were adjusted, such as exports, search and filtering options or the outputs available on the API of the Caflou application,” says Jiří Viták, Sales Director of Archetix, “I cannot imagine that with global collaboration tools of a similar type. It is amazing and we really appreciate it.” For example, the API outputs mentioned above, or fields missing in exports that we urgently needed, were added to the application within minutes, so we could continue undisturbed with the development of our process helpers.
In the tool we run our projects, where we use the agile development methodology, and we also assign individual tasks. If needed, we bend the system with labels, statuses or task types. The ability to comment on tasks and assign them to individual team members is great. The tool also includes its own measurement of time worked, which is indispensable for every freelancer and for projects managed by the hour. The timesheets, where you summarise your measured time, are then very valuable.
An indispensable part of Caflou, as its name partly suggests, is managing company finances and above all cash flow. You can issue and record invoices and all money flows here. You can track the financial health of the company as well as expected future income according to planned projects.
“Like other start-up entrepreneurs in online business and especially in marketing, we were looking for some collaboration software at the beginning, and we are very glad that we found Caflou. Despite minor shortcomings, it allows us to manage our company, employees, projects and contacts of potential customers,” sums up Michal Pich, analyst and one of the founders of Archetix.
“If you are looking for collaboration software and want to support a Czech project, give Caflou a chance like we did and take part in the development of this application. The prices of the application are more than reasonable, and if you are a start-up or a student, try writing to Petr Macek, perhaps you will work something out,” urges everyone Marek Čech, co-founder of Archetix.
