Data analysis
At Archetix, I work in data analytics, which means that I create and design various data solutions and infrastructure. I mainly work on IT processes in the background, building dashboards, performing analytics and creating Machine Learning models. I am in charge of several clients for whom I manage their data solutions, troubleshoot issues that arise and keep their systems up and running. Marek, who I actually work with the most, is gradually handing over more clients to me, and my goal is to fully take over the portfolio of clients with data needs in the future.
I enjoy building data infrastructure the most. I think of it as the equivalent of building a road that leads from point A (a place of chaos and disorganization) to point B (a clear and functional dashboard). The output of my work serves as a source of information for the client to make effective decisions and work from. I enjoy giving order and direction to data so that it has the most value for clients.
My work is useful for clients who have a vision, don’t want to sleep on time and want to stay ahead of the competition. Through my services, they can gain a new perspective on their data and find answers to questions they may not have asked before. I help them discover new opportunities for growth, increased profitability, customer retention and more. In addition, structured data allows clients to gradually implement more advanced solutions and automate processes so they can keep up with the times.
Popular tools
I use a wide range of tools in my work, which I often tailor to specific client needs. For example, I use Google Cloud, Keboola and BigQuery for data processing, and Python and SQL for programming. For data visualisation, I prefer to work with Power BI, Tableau and Looker Studio. I’m a big fan of Keboola, but I also enjoy creating completely new solutions in Python. I also love BigQuery and digging through GA4 data, because it’s always such a shock-horror-thing where there’s always something new to discover.
How did it all start?
I’ve worked with data all my professional life, but I started at a less technical level. I worked with Excel data from Statistics Finland, which gradually led me to creating macros, working with SQL and other technical solutions. I took online courses in IT and quickly improved my skills in this area. Gradually my experience and knowledge improved and expanded until suddenly I knew quite a lot. 😀
Hobbies and interests outside work
Outside of work my biggest hobbies are my French bulldogs, Lumir and Čestmir. I’m also a passionate cyclist and I’m mainly into downhill, which is an adrenaline sport where I ride down hills in the mountains, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
I love to travel and even use the Been app to track and tick off places I’ve been – so far I’ve visited 38 places, which is about 18% of the world.
Besides all that, I love to educate myself, cook, bake or exercise.
When I really need to switch off, I rely on computer games. World of Warcraft or building adult Lego are ideal activities for that.
I really have many hobbies and interests, but my latest one is spoiling my boyfriend.
