What Is the GA4 Raw Data Export?
Raw data is a very common topic these days.
Google Analytics 4 is Google's new analytics tool, and with it came a new data model. The new data model brought the possibility to take all the data and export it to BigQuery, which is part of Google Cloud. The exported data contains events, so-called hits, exactly as they arrived in GA4 and as it processed them.
The export opens up the possibility of easily connecting the data to other systems. At the same time you can do your own sessionisation (= joining individual events into so-called visits) and attribution.
In our next video we look at what the export of GA4 data to BigQuery looks like. What does it mean and how does it relate to web and digital analytics? We then look at processing the GA4 data from the raw export and at what you can do with it. We show several queries you can use. We finish the video with a few tips and tricks, and some thoughts on what to watch out for when processing raw data from BigQuery and GA4.
So let's get started!
